Super (Bowl) Cookie Decorating Class

Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies?! Lita's Sweet Shop is here to help! In this 1.5-hour class, we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), you'll get my icing and cookie recipe, do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided!

We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! You'll even get to choose the color of your team! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate!

And yes! You will be able to choose your own team colors!!

This class is on Saturday, February 3, 2024 and is held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. so we can have enough time to decorate and answer along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family - we have seating for up to 15 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo!

This class is good for ages 12+, but if you'd like to leave the kiddos at home, purchase an add-on kit (more on that below)! The kits are great for kids at home, plus - we'll send you the class PowerPoint so you can teach them yourself!

The class will be held at The Learning Lab in Covina, CA located at 580 S. Grand Avenue, Covina, CA 91723. Easy and free parking is available!

What will I be doing in the class?

Besides having the most fun ever? I will be going over some cookie facts, decorating techniques and you will be decorating your very own set of cookies that you will take home with you that day.

Can I purchase an additional take-home kit?

Yes! Many parents or practicing cookiers purchase additional class kits to take home and re-do the classes. You can purchase an add-on kit during check-out. Your kit will be available at the end of your class - so don't forget it!

Do I need to know how to bake?

Nope! I will have the cookies pre-made for you and will give you the recipe in an email after class so you can create your own on your own!

What will we learn in class?

You’ll learn what goes into preparing royal icing, the value of different icing consistencies, how to color icing, and tricks to fill piping bags (believe me, it’s harder than it looks). You’ll also learn different decorating techniques such as marbling, outlining, detailing, and wet-on-wet. Techniques will vary depending on the class.

What do I need to bring?

Nothing! Everything will be provided for you including our rather tasty sugar cookies. All you need to do is join us and have fun! Messy decorator? You can bring your own apron or just wear easy-to-wash clothing.

What age is best for cookie classes?

My classes are best for kids over 12. However, you can purchase an additional take-home kit! I’ll send you the class PPT and you can teach your kids in the comfort of your own home.

What will I bring home?

By the end of the class, you will have created a set of gorgeous cookies ready to dry for 24-48 hours in their own box. And of course, you’ll have new skills, memories, and fun!

Can I sign up as an individual or as a group?

You can sign up either as an individual, with a friend, or with a whole group. The more the merrier! I am limited to a total of 15 seats per class, so definitely sign up ASAP!

General Cancellation Policy for Classes:

Canceling before 3 days out:

If you are unable to attend a class you signed up for prior to 3 days before class, email me to choose another class to move to, or to get your refund started, asap.

Canceling within 3 days of class:

For any cancelation prior to your class’s start time but after the 3-day refund policy, please email me at litassweetshop@gmail.com. If I have another class scheduled in the future I will be happy to offer a class credit, but if I do not have a future class, unfortunately I will not be able to offer a refund.

You Don't Show Up Or Email Prior To Class:

If I do not hear from you before the class’s start time, and you do not show up for class, I won’t be able to offer you a refund or a credit regardless of whether you're sick. So please reach out to me if you’re feeling sick before class starts!

You purchased a Class Take-Home Kit and a Class Ticket:

If you purchased both a class ticket and a take-home kit and email prior to the 3-day refund policy, I’ll be happy to offer you either a full refund for both your class ticket and DIY kit. If it's beyond the three days, you may request a class credit if available (see above); however, you'll need to send a family or friend to pick up your DIY kit from class on your class date. I cannot offer refunds on already assembled DIY kits.
